 Joab Mulvane Mulvane, Kansas is named after Joab Mulvane, whose interests have shaped modern Kansas, especially in shipping logistics and Kansas' strategic advantage as a single distribution point for North America. President of at least nine railroads, with other business interests in the Kansas Town Company, the Quivera Town & Land Company, the Edison Light Company of Topeka, Shawnee Fire Insurance Company, and the Kansas Salt Company, among others, Joab Mulvane was instrumental in Mulvane's earliest stages of development.
